  1. K-Mart’s closing, & Hastings is filing Chapter 11. I sure hope the local elected officials are paying attention to these matters, or mayhaps they’ve stock invested in Wal-Mart.

P.S. Thank goodness for our 3rd Wal-Mart in Blount County. Lord knows Wal-Marts are rare finds, and locally owned family fun filled drive-in movie theatres, are a dime a dozen.

    • The local politicians have also catered to Kroger. Regulations have made development so expensive that its often only the mega corporations with deep pockets who have the money for development and the know how to get politicians to dole out favors.

I don’t shop at Wal-Mart or Kroger. I live just fine without either.
